Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question about a service we provide? We can help. Explore some of our most popular clinic questions here or give us a call.
What age do you fit contact lenses?
Typically, we’ll fit contact lenses for children aged 11 and up depending on maturity and the patient’s motivation. (If you still have to remind them to brush their teeth, maybe wait a year!)
Why do you need to look at my retinas if I don’t feel my vision has changed?
The retina is the inner lining of the eye and is a very intricate tissue that allows you to see. Diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, holes, tears, and tumors, among many others, can threaten your sight but often don’t cause any perceivable symptoms. Early detection is so important. We don’t know if we don’t look. Additionally, many systemic diseases can first make an appearance in the eye.
Do you do the air puff?
Nope. We dislike it as much as you do! We have a more comfortable instrument to measure eye pressure, called ICare, that doesn’t require drops and feels like a light flutter.
I have a family history of glaucoma. Do you test for that?
Yes, with every routine examination, we thoroughly evaluate your risk for developing glaucoma and continue to monitor it annually.
Can I bring in the glasses I purchased from you for repair or adjustments?
Always and anytime at no charge. Also, remember to bring in your complimentary lens cleaner bottle for a refill.
